It’s Not Just an Oil. It’s a Ritual.
When we first experienced, as new moms, the need for infant gas relief, congestion relief or a relaxing baby oil products - we knew the solution to our concerns was more than a product - it was a completed method and system that was rooted in research AND connection. Connection drives physical comfort, security, and a nervous system level relaxation. Sometimes what babies (and adults) need is a product that works, and sometimes its just the healing touch that was needed. We knew the research existed, we knew what our grandmothers and generations before them passed down, we know what the ancient holistic sciences said AND we wanted something quick, easy, and with no equipment or accoutrements needed. That’s where the TWO STEP SAGE METHOD was born. The perfect part of your bedtime routine that drives connection, not stress.
Ingredients that work. Proportions you can trust. Mess-free packaging. Easy to follow illustrated guides. Two-steps and 10 minutes to a happier baby and you.
The TWO STEP sage method
STEP 1: Oil - with our exclusive formulations with incredible ingredients. We use diverse oil bases like sesame oil, almond oil, coconut oil, sunflower oil, mustard oil, castor oil, olive oil, and potent plant based ingredients like fennel, clove, sandalwood, holy basil, carom, chamomile, cinnamon, asafoetida, lavender, orange, eucalytpus, geranium, ginger, moringa, pomegranate and wheatgerm.
STEP 2: Massage - with our visual massage guide with easy to follow massage positions. The guide illustrates positions originating from the wisdom of eastern medicine (Ayurveda) and generations of South Asian families, backed by modern data. These specific techniques are designed to support baby’s well-being and deepen your bond, but feel free to adapt, making sure to avoid sensitive areas like the top of the head and ribs. Follow baby’s cues. Massage is also a time to connect. Talk to your baby, describe your movements, sing, or share loving affirmations. This is your special moment together. In 6-12 month olds, massaged infants were shown to have higher quotients in gross motor, fine motor, language scales and brain maturation, likely connected to higher levels of deep restorative sleep. Postpartum mothers who massaged their infants for only 8-15 minutes a day showed fewer anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress symptoms and had better home environment scores. Mothers who massaged their infants also showed better attachment scores. There are so many other benefits to our method and why we believe in this so strongly.

Here's the thing: a bottle of oil, on its own, is limited to the benefits of its ingredients. But sage baby co. was built on the idea that the ancient remedies babies have benefited from for generations were never meant to be used in isolation — they were paired with touch and connection. Pairing isn't just tradition for tradition's sake — the massage positions have been used by generations of caregivers and are also backed by Western research. Used together, the method increases efficacy and amplifies results compared to using the oils alone. Try it today, we know you’ll feel the difference too.

As always, patch test new products before full use, keep oils away from baby's eyes and mouth, and check in with your pediatrician before starting any new routine — especially for newborns or babies with sensitive skin.
